Multimedia exhibition in Kolhapur
Workshops for Women Entrepreneurs, Legal Literacy and Career Counselling draw big crowds
A joint initiative of the Central Bureau of Communication, Kolhapur Municipal Corporation and Zilla Parishad Kolhapur
On the second day of the exhibition, renowned senior lawyer, Dr. Santosh Shah conducted a session on the basics of property and inheritance law. The session saw participation from more than a hundred women belonging to marginalized sections of society. In the session, the women explained the basic rights they have in the property and how inheritance takes place on the death of a person. The importance of making a will and the procedure thereof was explained in simple terms. The session also touched upon constitutional provisions for the protection of women and laws such as POSH. In this interactive session, various doubts the women had relating to their rights in agricultural land to laws regarding the functioning of SHGs were explained by the guest. Overall the session provided an opportunity for women to understand how they can claim their rights in the family and self-made property in an effective manner.
On 11th March, Poonam Dhoble from Eklavya gave students Career tips and opened a vista of career opportunities for them. She interacted with girl students and made them aware of many career opportunities outside of well-known 3-4 fields of career.

The exhibition ended today with the Powada programme performed by Shri Rangrao Patil which enthralled the audience and created awareness about Women-led development.
